Donate Your Records

Do you have boxes of old photographs, documents, or other memorabilia sitting around your home that you are not quite sure what to do with?

Don't throw it away. The OJA may be interested in preserving it.

We acquire the records of Jewish individuals who live, or have lived, in Ontario, as well as Jewish organizations and businesses that have operated in the province. Donating your records helps ensure they are preserved and made accessible to future generations to learn from and enjoy

We collect unpublished records in all formats and from every era, including textual, graphic, audio-visual, cartographic, architectural and born-digital materials. This may include correspondence, photographs, films, videos, diaries, posters, brochures, digital files, websites and more. For archival purposes, original records are preferred whenever possible, as they retain the greatest evidential and historical value. Please note that the OJA is not a lending library and is generally unable to accept book collections that have no direct connection to the history of Jewish Ontario.

The OJA is a registered charity and can issue tax receipts for eligible donations. We are also a designated institution under the Canadian Cultural Property Export and Import Act.
