Donate Your Records
You probably have boxes of old photos, souvenirs, and other memorabilia sitting around your home and you aren’t quite sure what to do with it.
Do not throw it away! The OJA wants it!
We acquire the records of Jewish individuals who live (or have lived) in the province and those Jewish organizations or businesses that have operated in the province. Donating your original records ensures that they will be preserved and made accessible to future generations of researchers. We collect records in all unpublished formats (textual, graphic, audio-visual, cartographic, architectural) from all eras. This may include correspondence, videos, photographs, diaries, posters, brochures, etc. Originals are always preferred over copies for archival reasons.
The OJA is a registered charity and can issue receipts for donations. We are also a designated institution under the Canadian Cultural Property Export Act.
Please contact us for more information or if you have any questions.

Preparing Your Records For Donation
Donating Digital Records
The OJA is now able to accept donations of born-digital records. Please contact an archivist who can provide advice on the submission process.
Donating Books
The OJA is not a lending library and is unable to accept donations of book collections that have no connection to the history of Jewish Ontario.
