Population

Sudbury continued to grow during the 1930s, with the Nickel companies outside of town employing large numbers of labourers. The Jewish community grew from 129 in 1921 to 239 in 1941. These numbers gradually declined in the 1950s and then rose again during the 1970s to 230 Jewish residents. While Jews represented 1.5 percent of the population in 1921, by 1971 the general population had expanded to such a degree that Jews made up only 0.3 percent of the residents in Sudbury.
