Curling Champions, 1964

There were usually too few Jewish youths within North Bay to form exclusively Jewish teams. As a result, most simply played on teams with their peers, or even on teams organized by local church groups. Herb Brown, for example, recalled playing basketball in the 1930s on the St. John Anglican Church team which won the city championship. He also played on the bantam hockey team of the Trinity United Church when he was twelve years old and took music lessons at St. Mary’s Academy.
