notice in Yiddish about the rules of conduct during services,
c. 1925. Translation reads: “Notice – The Services
are on Saturday morning 9:15 am. Please – we beg you not
to wander around during davening (prayers). Just sit down on a seat. Also do not smoke in shul
and don’t spit on the floor and also obey the trustees.
By order of the President and Committee.”
