The physical exhibit was produced by the Ontario Jewish Archives in the fall of 2005. It relies on artefacts, photographs and archival documents to examine the development of business and labour in Toronto’s Jewish community.

This OJA would like to thank United Bakers for sponsoring this exhibit. The restaurant was established in 1912 by Aaron Ladovsky, and although it has changed locations and is now managed by his grandchildren, Ruth and Philip, it still remains a fixture within the community, a place to enjoy traditional delicacies and schmooze with friends and family.

Their father, Herman, had been a devoted volunteer at the Ontario Jewish Archives.  The family remains committed to preserving and celebrating the rich and important history of the Jewish community.

Thanks to Dan Ehrenworth for producing the professional photographs used for the virtual exhibit
